I am an Assistant Professor of Health Humanities & Bioethics at the University of Rochester.
My research focuses on the political philosophy of science, health and technology. Here is a selection of the questions I'm thinking about at the moment:
- How can theories of justice help guide the development and deployment of AI for health?
- How should we measure racial or gender bias in the context of decisions made by machine-learning algorithms?
- How do attitudes toward the goals of science change sceintists' willingness to comply with research ethics regulations?
- What role does the security of important goods (like healthcare, income, etc.) play in people's ability to form and pursue life plans?
